Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Updated: June 2026

1. Overview

DentalUnlock is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed our data practices around a simple principle: we collect only what we need, and we never sell your data.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address and name when you create an account or sign in with Google. Contract analysis: When you upload a contract, the document is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic, Inc.) for processing. The original file is immediately deleted after analysis. We retain only: your overall grade (A–F), extracted key terms (compensation, non-compete radius, termination notice, etc.), and your general geographic region (city/state). Insurance services: When you request malpractice quotes or upload a policy declarations page, we collect the information needed to shop and place coverage — including your name, date of birth, contact information, mailing address, professional license number and NPI, practice details, procedure and sedation profile, claims and disciplinary history, current and prior coverage details, and your electronic signature on the application. Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this only for security and performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Your Information

To deliver the AI contract analysis you requested. To obtain insurance quotes and place coverage you requested (see Section 5). To send you your report or quotes via email if you provide one. To improve our AI scoring models and market benchmarks using anonymized, aggregated data (never individual contracts). To communicate important updates about the Service. We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell it. Outside of the insurance placement described in Section 5 and the service providers in Section 7, we do not share your data with third parties.

4. Contract File Handling

Your uploaded contract file is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS) to our servers, immediately forwarded to Anthropic's API for AI processing, and then permanently deleted. We never store your original contract document. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their API usage policies. Extracted terms (e.g., base salary, non-compete radius) are stored anonymously for aggregate market benchmarking.

5. Insurance Documents & Application Data

Policy declarations pages you upload are parsed by AI to extract your coverage details (carrier, premium, limits, policy type, dates); the document and extracted details are stored securely and used to shop your coverage. When you submit an insurance application, we share your application information with insurance carriers and our licensed placement partners — solely to obtain quotes and place the coverage you requested. We do not share your information with carriers we are not seeking quotes from, and we never sell it. As a licensed insurance producer, we are required by state insurance laws to retain records of insurance transactions; insurance applications and related documents are kept for as long as those laws require, even if you close your account.

6. Data Retention

Account data: Retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion at any time. Analysis results: Grade and extracted terms are retained indefinitely in anonymized form for benchmarking. Linking them to your account is retained only while your account exists. Insurance records: Retained as required by state insurance record-keeping laws (see Section 5). Server logs: Retained for 90 days.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Anthropic (AI analysis), Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Cloudflare (network security, content delivery, and bot protection), Google (optional sign-in), PostHog (product analytics — tracks page views, feature usage, and conversion events using cookies and anonymous identifiers). For insurance services, we also share application data with insurance carriers and licensed placement partners as described in Section 5. Each is governed by their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function. You can manage cookie preferences by clearing your browser cookies at any time.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, row-level security on our database, and service role key segregation. No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at [email protected].

9. Your Rights

You may request to: access the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, delete your account and associated data, or receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Note: insurance transaction records that state law requires us to retain are excluded from deletion requests until the required retention period has passed.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
